The Volcano Dragon! By:Aurel

                                  The Volcano Dragon

Climbing up the volcano I felt the jagged rocks press against my palm, poking me each time. My heavy bag was making the journey even harder for me. The volcano was blazing hot. It was ridiculous, the journey I made to come here. I had given up as soon as I had started climbing, but there was still some hope in my heart.

Finally, I was at the top but to my surprise, there was lava oozing out, there was smoke everywhere. It was too hard for me to breathe so I grabbed a mask and felt oxygen running inside me again. I decided to look around the volcano and noticed a faint face in the smoke. I thought that it might be me imagining but to my disbelief, there was a dragon. I advanced a few steps closer to the scary dragon and with courage decided to enter the thick gray smoke. I felt the smoke brush against my face. I pulled a sword out from my backpack and swung it across the smoke. The dragon roared in anger and swung his vast tail. I quickly advanced back and fell on my back. I tried to scramble away but he threw a neon yellow and orange fireball at me and I dropped my phone.

Suddenly it started to rain. The lava was cooling out as lightning crackled in the sky. I could hear the rain pour down as the battle got intense. The dragon was still in the smoke. I thought that I should check my bag for something and found a tranquillizer. I avidly pulled the tranquillizer out and cried “TAKE THIS YOU EVIL BEAST”. It was only a tranquillizer so this creature wouldn’t be out for long. So I grabbed my phone and called the S.W.A.T team. They said it would take them some time so I waited for half an hour. The wild creature woke up, angrier than ever. I heard it scratch the icy snow off the mountain. Soon the sky was turning into a twilight colour and the S.W.A.T team was nowhere to be seen. It stopped raining and I was starting to get chilly. I could feel the breeze blow against my warm, red face. The cool breeze gave me life and strength to keep on fighting.

The hideous monster never left the smoke. I felt the smoke and it didn’t feel like smoke it felt like ...what could it be though? Just then I realized that I was “FEELING THE SCALES OF THE DRAGON!” The; wet, slimy and sticky scales felt weird on my hand. I called the SWAT team again and they said they were nearly there. My hiking shoes were now starting to get sweaty so I changed my shoes. I threw my hiking shoes off the cliff. My boots felt dry; soft and way more comfortable than my other shoes. After a few more minutes the SWAT team arrived and I was saved. I tasted victory and went home safe and sound. That was a very, very, very dangerous day!

The Big Race by Aurel

                                  The Big Race

All the runners pumped to win. Their hearts filled with optimism. They’re brought to the field. 321 GO! The rack starts runners running to overpower each other jumping over the hurdles a girl talks the lead. Parents cold in the chilly weather hoping for the race to be over. Crossing their arms tightly to gain warmth. The tells swish in the Power upwind. It’s harder for the runners casual the wind blows in their direction. The boy I the back looks like he is our world with running but still, he gives it a shot. Jumping over the hurdles, trampling over the flowers. The lush green grass blows in the overwind.ZOOM! The rack gets tougher as they come to the land. Trying to talk the bad as they come to the land. Trying to take the lead they run in the hope of winning.Right, when they finish line was 30 centimetres away they started walking.

The day I won the lotto and lost the lotto ticket-By Aurel

The day I won the lotto and lost the lotto ticket

I FINALLY FOUND IT THE TICKET I HAVE BEEN LOOKING FOR SO MANY MONTHS.

Okay, let me tell you the whole story. I was walking down the street. It was a very luminous night the sky was filled with stars. I was walking towards my car when I saw The Lotto I went inside. After a few minutes, I came running out with a massive smile on my face. I started screaming “I WON THE LOTTO”.

I ran to my car, sat inside and drove home. I told my twin sister Jeniffer that I [Jane] had won the lotto. However, I didn’t expect a twist in my story because of the next day. I was out outside and shopping, and it was a sweltering day. I decided to get ice cream and by the time I got there I fainted. All I remembered was that I felt dizzy and my eyes shut. The nurse was putting a plaster on my head. She said because I fell on the concrete my hand broke and my head was bleeding. I remembered about my lotto ticket when she was done I rushed outside where Jeniffer was standing with flowers. She asked if I was okay. I replied that I was feeling better, but my head felt heavy. Then I questioned Jeniffer to weather she knows where my lotto ticket is?. She told me that I left it inside with the nurse that was curing me. I was about to run inside when the nurse came she said to me that I had left the bag and that it has a hole so that something could have fallen out I searched my bag the only thing I put in there was my lotto ticket and wallet. My wallet was safe but my lotto ticket…

”ITS GONE”.I asked the nurse smiled at me serenely it was like she knew where it was. Jeniffer told me that I would find it, but for now, I need to rest. At my house, my cousins, mum, dad, Aunty, Uncle and my friends were all there. They tried to make me happy by playing my favourite game, but nothing worked just then my cousin [Jen] said “Let’s play guess where Jane’s lotto ticket could be” “ME, FIRST !” shouted Jen.”I think it’s on the pavement “LET ME GUESS !” said my friend Mia. “I think it’s inside her plaster cast”. “That would be weird,” said Jen. After that, I wasn’t sad about the lotto ticket.

A few months later I was getting my cast removed I told the nurse that was removing my cast the whole story. She was nearly done removing the cast when she stared at me in suspense. “I-I know where your lotto ticket is,” said the nurse...

I stared down my ticket was inside my cast. I screamed happily. That's when I realised why the nurse that had helped me had a serene smile because she knew where my ticket was. I was so happy that day.

Banks

                                                    Banks

Banks are a place where you can trust and store your money without worrying about getting stolen. Banks can give your money to others but remember banks don’t give the money away for free. If banks do give your money to someone else that person has to pay back,  For example, a lady asks for 200$ and the bank takes money out of your account and gives to the lady soon the lady returns and pays the bank the 200$ and the bank pays you the 200$ back. It’s basically working in a circle.

What’s the difference between a piggy bank, safe and vault?

Piggy banks are a place for kids to store their money that has been given to them by their parents.

A safe is a place where people store their money. For instance, you have money that you don’t want to put in your account. The bank automatically put it in a safe but a safe is not as secure as a vault.

A vault is secure and spacious. A vault is a place you can trust the most to store something too precious to you like jewellery.

When did banks start?

The idea of banks began as long ago as 1,800 BC in Babylon. In those days moneylenders made loans to people. In Greece and Rome banks made loans and accepted deposits. In that time money was very different and banking was very different.

What is the importance of community banking

community banks provide almost one-half of small business loans, more than 40%of farm loans, and over one-third of commercial real estate loans across the country.

The day I traded my T.V for a big fat rabbit !!! by Aurel

The day I traded my T.V for a big fat rabbit WALT-write an entertain your audience. Hook-start with middle/end.

“WHY DID YOU DO THAT” “NOW I CAN’T WATCH MY FAVORITE T.V SHOWS GO GET OUR T.V BACK THIS INSTANT!” my mum screamed in complete horror. “WHAT DID YOU EVEN TRADE THE T.V FOR?” my mum questioned in dismay. “I-I traded it for a cute gigantic bunny” I answered timidly

Well that’s what all the chaos was about but let me tell you from the beginning when my sister asked me “Why am I so short?” “Because you are little” I answered. “Why do you get to be so tall” “Because I am smarter dummy and older” I ran inside and grabbed some ice cubes(I brought the ice cubes hoping my sister would soon stop talking). Then I put the ice cube in her T-shirt and laughed when she started running around in circles hoping the ice cubes would eventually come out. Then quite suddenly the doorbell rang . I ran to the door and opened it excitedly. There I saw my friend Emily standing with a blue cage and I saw there was a cute little bunny(I wouldn’t say little bunny, to be honest, I would say gigantic bunny). She said that her dad had bought it for her so she wouldn’t be so alone. I asked her why did she feel alone though she replied “Because my 35 sisters never bother to play with me so my dad thought that he should buy me a bunny to play with” “That’s a cool rabbit,” I said.

I thought for a moment and said that would she like my dad’s car for the bunny because I really wanted that adorable rabbit “No something else” she replied. I showed her everything I even agreed to give her the house. Then I saw the T.V “Hey, Emily do you wanna T.V” “hmm...Sure may I see it” “Yeah it’s there my mum bought a theatre sized one” “Sure I’ll take it” She left after the moving truck had come. Then out of the blue, my mum came in the room and questioned “Girls why was a moving truck here and why did it have the same T.V that we have” I rushed downstairs petrified I thought I could outrun mum for a few days and stay at grandmas but my mum seized my shirt and said where was the T.V I replied timorously to mums question “I-I-I TRADED IT” “YOU WHAT” “I traded it…” “WHY DID YOU DO THAT” “NOW I CAN’T WATCH MY FAVORITE T.V SHOWS GO GET OUR T.V BACK THIS INSTANT!” my mum screamed in complete horror. “WHAT DID YOU EVEN TRADE THE T.V FOR?” my mum questioned in dismay. “I-I traded it for a cute gigantic bunny” I answered timidly “GO GET IT BACK NOW!!!” “Ok m-mom” “Karry go with your older sister,” my mum said a little more calmly “WHY ME” my sister cried “KARRY GO WITH KAYA I WILL NOT REPEAT MYSELF” my mum screamed.

Me and Karry escaped the exploding volcano(our mum) and ran to Emily’s house. I knocked on Emily’s door to find out that she had traded the T.V for a donkey. She handed me the donkey and told me to go to Cherry's house. After a few minutes which felt like hours, we arrived at Cherry's house. It was a very neat house, it had a pale blue roof and bright white walls. I rang the doorbell while Karry stared at the tiger that was locked in the cage. Cherry came outside and said “Why are you here” “Can we have our T.V” “S…” To be continued... Part 2 coming

why we shouldn't kill animals for food, fashion or trophies (my speech)

Why we shouldn't kill animals for fashion, food or trophies

Intro- Is killing animals a smart idea? Is killing animals a safe idea? If we kill animals will our lives be threatened? Some questions that we should ask when we see someone killing an animal don’t you think yeah. In my opinion, these are questions we should ask ourselves when we see animals in danger.

My first important reason why we shouldn’t kill animals for fashion, food or trophies is that they have helped humans. There are even wild animals that have helped humans from dying like a deer which we call weak saved a woman from an unidentified man that’s unbelievable. even a child who was saved from kidnappers by a lion in 2009!!!

What happened when we killed animals in the past?
Thousands of years ago we used to kill whales for their precious oil and food. Soon after there were limits added to killing whales yet they were still not enough. There were still numbers of whales decreasing. There are still many numbers of whales dying out. We should really do more and not kill them for oil and food. There are still many whales out there that still get hunted more than the limits that are added. I feel that treating whales like that is a horrible thing those poor animals are defenseless and yet we still kill them and take advantage of them being defenseless.

 Hunting:
The damage done by hunting is the result of why we have only 1-2 million species of animals. The damage done by hunting is unrepairable but we can save the 1-2 million species of animals left. The damage done by hunting is unnecessary, unneeded and unrepairable in my opinion. I strongly believe that hunting should be banned to stop more damage to these precious animals.
 Conclusion:
How can we do more to help the environment? We can do just a little like save an abandoned animal preferably not wild animals. If you do find a hurt wild animal call an expert for help like a veterinarian you know how they say every little bit makes a huge impact well let's make that impact.
