The Volcano Dragon! By:Aurel

                                  The Volcano Dragon

Climbing up the volcano I felt the jagged rocks press against my palm, poking me each time. My heavy bag was making the journey even harder for me. The volcano was blazing hot. It was ridiculous, the journey I made to come here. I had given up as soon as I had started climbing, but there was still some hope in my heart.

Finally, I was at the top but to my surprise, there was lava oozing out, there was smoke everywhere. It was too hard for me to breathe so I grabbed a mask and felt oxygen running inside me again. I decided to look around the volcano and noticed a faint face in the smoke. I thought that it might be me imagining but to my disbelief, there was a dragon. I advanced a few steps closer to the scary dragon and with courage decided to enter the thick gray smoke. I felt the smoke brush against my face. I pulled a sword out from my backpack and swung it across the smoke. The dragon roared in anger and swung his vast tail. I quickly advanced back and fell on my back. I tried to scramble away but he threw a neon yellow and orange fireball at me and I dropped my phone.

Suddenly it started to rain. The lava was cooling out as lightning crackled in the sky. I could hear the rain pour down as the battle got intense. The dragon was still in the smoke. I thought that I should check my bag for something and found a tranquillizer. I avidly pulled the tranquillizer out and cried “TAKE THIS YOU EVIL BEAST”. It was only a tranquillizer so this creature wouldn’t be out for long. So I grabbed my phone and called the S.W.A.T team. They said it would take them some time so I waited for half an hour. The wild creature woke up, angrier than ever. I heard it scratch the icy snow off the mountain. Soon the sky was turning into a twilight colour and the S.W.A.T team was nowhere to be seen. It stopped raining and I was starting to get chilly. I could feel the breeze blow against my warm, red face. The cool breeze gave me life and strength to keep on fighting.

The hideous monster never left the smoke. I felt the smoke and it didn’t feel like smoke it felt like ...what could it be though? Just then I realized that I was “FEELING THE SCALES OF THE DRAGON!” The; wet, slimy and sticky scales felt weird on my hand. I called the SWAT team again and they said they were nearly there. My hiking shoes were now starting to get sweaty so I changed my shoes. I threw my hiking shoes off the cliff. My boots felt dry; soft and way more comfortable than my other shoes. After a few more minutes the SWAT team arrived and I was saved. I tasted victory and went home safe and sound. That was a very, very, very dangerous day!
